Molly Made Me Do It

Molly Made Me Do It Whole Food Plant Based Recipe Challenge

A few months ago, I started doing something in our private Facebook group that has gotten so popular I wanted to write a blog post about it.

Meet our whole-food plant-based digital cookbook

For context, did you know we have a digital cookbook of over 4,500 whole-food plant-based recipes that my team and I have created over the past 10 years that we keep adding to? This digital cookbook is called Clean Food Dirty Girl. It’s so much fun because you can:

???? Search for recipes by ingredient
⭐ Read and add reviews (and share your food pics if you want!)
???? Keep all the recipes you love in one place
???? Save the recipes you want to make later so they’re easy to find
???? Look at the nutrition info if you want
⚖️ Adjust the serving size of the recipes to your likes / needs and the recipes will scale automatically. So if you want to make three times more of something, you can do that with the click of a button, and there’s no need to manually calculate anything.

Did I mention there are no ads, the interface is beautiful, the food photography is stunning, and the recipes are the best? I use Clean Food Dirty Girl almost every day. I’m so thankful, not only for these recipes that keep me healthy and kicking ass, but for the way they’re presented. If I had to rely on random blogs, Instagram accounts, and cookbooks, I would not eat as well as I do. Period.

Along with 80s movies, the Libby app, cats, and the overall complexities of being human and eating plants, I am fascinated with Clean Food Dirty Girl.

Which brings us full circle to what I started a while back in our Facebook group.

With so many recipes in Clean Food Dirty Girl, and new ones being added all the time, I thought it would be fun to hand-select one recipe every week or so, and have everyone, including me, commit to making it. One of our members coined the term #MollyMadeMeDoIt, and people are loving it! Almost every Friday, I announce which recipe I’ve picked, along with suggestions about what to do with it once it’s made. Within 24 hours, our Facebook group fills up with pictures from people around the globe showing off what they’ve made.

Turns out, making one whole-food plant-based recipe is doable for most people, and when we do something together, even if it’s virtual, it connects and reminds us that we aren’t alone on our quest to be the healthiest versions of ourselves—even if normally we’re the odd person out at the potluck, munching on our hummus and loving every bite.

People also love this because they’re trying recipes they would never have chosen on their own. For instance, the  #MollyMadeMeDoIt Carrot Hummus was a huge hit. Most people would have never tried this gem, but everyone loved it, and a lot of people said it would now be on regular rotation!

“So freaking delicious! #MollyMadeMeDoIt or I never would have. Made it in my (new) (tiny) food processor and just split the ingredients in two and then mixed up the batches. Froze half and the other half was gone in two sittings. Will definitely make again.”

It’s so much fun choosing the recipe each week, and I get to revisit my faves, too. I totally chose Classic Banana Bread a while back because I’d been craving it. ????

If you want to join the fun and commit to at least one whole-food plant-based recipe this weekend, sign up for Clean Food Dirty Girl (the $12/month Recipe Vault Access membership is perfect for this), join our Facebook group, and look for the hashtag #MollyMadeMeDoIt

Low Fat Eggless Egg Salad

“I never made the regular eggless salad—and never made actual egg salad, as frankly, it didn’t sound appealing. This, though? So good! My 6-year-old cried when I told her the leftovers were gone. . . so we are making more! We call it tofu salad in this house, as my husband never liked eggs.”

You can access all the recipes in the Molly Made Me Do It recipe collection. Sometimes, I choose recipes that are also available for free on our blog and all recipes can be found in Clean Food Dirty Girl.
